What exactly this pictograms hide can be discovered thanks to the enclosed Viattiva hiking diary. Similar to a guide book it informs about the peculiarities, stories and products of the region and in addition the hikers have the possibility to complete the diary with personal notes and pictures during their journey. As a technological alternative the students developed an interactive hiking diary, which can be downloaded to a smartphone. Furthermore there has been created the Viattiva game with trivia questions, offering the hikers the possibility to discover the locations in a playful way. The target group of this concept are tourists and local residents over 60.
The School of Economics and Management at the Free University of Bozen located in Bruneck participates in Project "Demochange”, which under the perspective of the demographic change in the Alpine region brings together project participants/universities from Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia for different projects. For the last year the Free University of Bozen has been working together with the municipalities of Mühlbach, Rodeneck, Natz-Schabs and Vahrn in order to react to long-term changes in the population. Tourism has been a subtopic: under this aspect the idea of a model application of an age-based hiking trail network covering all 4 municipalities was born.
In order to develop the conception and the design, the School of Economics and Management cooperated with the Faculty of Design and Art within the framework of the project “Left or Right?” under the supervision of Gerhard Glüher, Julian Koschwitz und Christian Upmeier.
